The Rev. Deacon James C. Jarrett (Vicar) 
Vicar James C. Jarrett was commissioned as a Deacon in the Texas District of the Lutheran Church -- Missouri Synod on June 18, 2006. As he pursues full pastoral ordination, he has been asked by Water of Life Lutheran Church to serve as her primary minister of the Word and Sacraments under the Episcopal oversight of the Rev. Scott E. Herbert, pastor of Tree of Life Lutheran Church in Garland, Texas. Vicar Jarrett was born in Dallas, Texas, the eldest of seven children. He was home-educated through high school and graduated from Oak Brook College of Law in 1999 with the degree of Juris Doctor. Since being licensed in 2000, he continues to practice law with a Dallas firm. Vicar and his wife Katie have six young children (4 daughters and 2 sons). Having completed the first phase of his formal education for pastoral ministry through the Mission Training Center at Concordia College, Bronxville, New York, Vicar Jarrett is presently enrolled in the Distance Education Leading to Ordination ("DELTO") program at Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Indiana. He is working toward completion of his seminary training over the next couple of years. Vicar Jarrett's pastoral mission is summed up in these words of St. Paul the Apostle: "We preach Christ crucified, and him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone in all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ; to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ."
