Water of Life

About Us

Worship Gatherings

Water of Life exists to connect thirsty people with Jesus. Come as you are and experience genuine worship, Gospel speaking in Word and Sacrament, prayer, and the friendly people that make up this faith community. Come and see how God is changing our lives as we try to follow Jesus together.

Water of Life is located at 12340 F.M 1641 in Forney, Texas.  Each Sunday, we offer three worship services as well as Sunday School for all ages.

Sunday Worship Schedule:

  • 8:00 AM - Classic Liturgy (Traditional worship service with hymns and the Order of Divine Service from Lutheran Service Book.)
  • 9:30 AM - Sunday School (Children and Adults)
  • 11:00 AM - Fresh Expression (An informal contemporary worship service with praise songs and liturgy.)
  • 1:45 PM - Servicio Español (Spanish-speaking worship service led by our Hispanic Outreach Ministry, Comunidad Cristiana Luterana Alcance)

Lenten Worship Schedule:

Lent is the 40 days between Ash Wednesday and Easter.  Traditionally Christians have used Lent to focus—or re-focus—on God who is already present and working in our lives—because he loves us!  In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, it’s easy to lose focus.  Lent is a chance for us to re-center again.

  • Ash Wednesday Worship - Wednesday, March 6 at 7 PM - We begin the season of Lent with a time of penitence and reflection and the imposition of ashes.
  • Midweek Lenten Services - Wednesdays in Lent - March 13, 20, 27, April 3, 10 at 7 PM - "The Cross is Our Peace" series

Holy Week & Easter Worship Schedule:

  • Palm Sunday Worship - April 14 at 8 AM, 11 AM & 1:45 PM - We remember Jesus' trimphant entry into Jerusalem.
  • Maundy Thursday Worship - April 18 at 7 PM - We remember the Passover Meal and celebrate Jesus' gift of the Lord's Supper.
  • Good Friday Worship - April 19 at 7 PM - We remember Jesus' suffering and death.
  • Easter Sunday, The Resurrection of Our Lord - April 21 at 8 AM, 11 AM & 1:45 PM - We remember Jesus' resurrection and His victory over death.

The Celebration of Holy Communion - Holy Communion is offered every Sunday to baptized followers of Jesus.  We believe that as we eat and drink the bread wine that Christ's true body and blood are present.  This is an invitation, not only from Christ, but also from this congregation, to all those who have been baptized in faith, repent of their sins, and who set aside any refusal to forgive and love just as Christ demonstrated to us through His death and resurrection.
